A recent hack on the Bybit cryptocurrency exchange has revealed that the infamous Lazarus hacker group was behind the theft of a massive amount of Bitcoin. Here’s what you need to know about this high-stakes cybersecurity incident.

Lazarus’ $1.12B Bitcoin Hoard Linked to Bybit Hack

Lazarus, the infamous hacker group, converted stolen ETH to 13,562 BTC ($1.12B) after the Bybit hack, as tracked by Arkham. The group deployed “BeaverTail” malware via NPM to target developers and steal crypto credentials. Lazarus also launched fake Solana meme coins on Pump.fun to launder stolen funds. Despite international sanctions, Lazarus has demonstrated sophisticated financial maneuvering.

BYDFi Responds to ExtraVOD’s False Allegations

BYDFi has addressed misleading accusations made by content creator ExtraVOD on social media. On January 25, BYDFi detected abnormal trading activity after ExtraVOD opened a second account to bypass perpetual risk limits. ExtraVOD admitted ignorance of the policy but was reminded of BYDFi’s User Agreement. BYDFi requested the removal of misleading content on January 26.
